With UK Architects and House designers in mind, HEATA extends the capabilities of the standard ArchiCAD toolset to display and monitor energy usage for individual houses and multiple dwellings. HEATA tools are contained within the familiar ArchiCAD labels and zone stamp tools.
Users can easily explore the impact of design decisions through a graphic display of thermal performance, heating requirements and daylight levels in each zone. The overall performance of a dwelling, including annual CO2 emissions and fuel costs, as well as predicted SAP and Code for Sustainable Homes energy ratings, are displayed in a dashboard or by listing chosen details of the resultant SAP.
Throughout the design, changes in spacial planning, fenestration and construction materials can be monitored with clear feedback on how elements will perform. Within the SAP Calculator, changes instantly update the SAP and dwelling CO2 emissions rate, making it easy to understand the impact of various energy strategies on code compliance.
A solar panel object gives options for solar thermal evacuated tubes, flat plate collectors, and photovoltaic panels. The contribution of renewable solar technologies to the dwelling’s overall energy performance can be automatically included in the energy analysis.
U-Evaluator
U-value calculator for floors, walls, roofs and ceilings with up to 8 construction layers. Calculations include customizable thermal bridging and allowances for fixings and gaps in insulation. Selection of materials from a customizable database are internet linked for further product data.
Window & Door Evaluator
Calculates and displays the orientation, heat loss and solar gain through rooflights, windows and doors. Select the composition of the glazing and frame or input manufacturers published whole window U-values.
Zone Energy Stamp
Graphically displays the contribution of each part of the building envelope to the total heat loss. The zone stamp also indicates daylight factors and solar gain.
SAP Calculator
‘Dashboard’ displays a fuel gauge of the predicted SAP and Code for Sustainable Homes energy ratings. A carbon bar-chart shows CO2 emitted and fuel used as well as annual fuel costs.
Solar Panel Object
Models solar thermal evacuated tubes, flat plate collectors, and photovoltaic panels using manufacturers or custom data. The solar panel label predicts the output of the array for any pitch or orientation, based on UK SAP data, to calculate the contribution of renewable solar technologies to the dwelling’s overall energy performance.
The HEATA Add-on exports text files containing detailed information on building elements for use in the pre-construction SAP assessment.
